National Coffee Bill 2020 at final stage to be passed

Parliaments’ committee on Agriculture has unanimously agreed to adopt amendments in the National Coffee Bill 2020 that was returned by the president for re-consideration.
The President returned the Bill to parliament to review clause 14 of the Bill regarding the appointment of the Board of Uganda Coffee Development Authority, the appointment of the board chairperson and director of the authority.
Agriculture Vicent Sempijja and state minister for Animal Industries Bright Rwamirama  appeared before the committee chaired by Abim District woman MP Okori-Moe Janet.
Okori-Moe says the committee has agreed that the managing director of the Authority shall be appointed by the Board on terms and conditions specified in the instrument of appointment.
State minister for animal industry Bright Rwamirama says the Board that appoints will supervise what is being done within the Authority.
