Chris Ireland, Sanyu FM’s First Born Son returns at the Helm.
After an illustrious career in sales and marketing, Sanyu FM’s first radio presenter, Chris Ireland has taken the reins at the station as its Brand new General Manager. Having helped launch the station in 1994. Chris pioneered the very first morning show on 88.2 Sanyu FM and 26 years later, the man formerly know on air as “Darling DJ Chris” now leads the vibrant station with a wealth of knowledge and expertise that cuts across all sectors of the radio business.
With a Natural inclination to music, Chris is best suited to guide the station that brags a sound that can only be described as “Today’s Best Music”. Chris portrays the True Jack of All Trades and has cleverly mastered all of them. From founding the country’s only jazz club in the form of Jazz Ville to creating the code 9 band, Chris remains rooted in the music. His talents as a Brand Manager are also well respected, having managed the brands of industry heavyweights like MTN Group Limited, Nile Breweries Ltd and SABMiller. In the sales world, Chris played a vital role in the growth of Broadband Uganda and Madhvani Group of companies as the sales manager. He even introduced Uganda to its first bowling alley at Alleygators, a complete entertainment center that took Kampala by storm in the early 2000s.
as the new General Manager of 88.2 FM, Chris Ireland will spark a new wave of dominance over the airwaves with fresh set of presenters and a dedicated team with one goal in mind – to be the market Leaders of Uganda’s Radio scene.
